3d Paper Art

Wild Wednesdays (could be anything!)

Paper starts out flat but doesn’t have to stay that way! Use some of the ideas shown, or others you think of, to create 3D paper art. It can be something recognizable (like a scene or animal) or abstract, or anything in between. Get creative! Show us a picture of your creation! What did you find interesting about making paper 3D?

A cool way to make any simple drawing pop! You can make anything look 3D. How does it change the look if you make the bubbles bigger or smaller? What if you make points like /\ instead of a rounded bubble? What other interesting effects can you create using this idea? Show us a picture of your 3D art!

Have fun with gravity by making a pompom run using paper towel or toilet paper rolls (or lengths of cardboard folded in a V or U shape) taped to cardboard or a wall that makes the pom pom take as long as possible to get to the ground from 3ft, 4ft, or 5ft up. Or make up other challenges, like trying to move the pompom 4ft to the right or left as fast or slow as possible, or whatever else you can think of. What about using something heavier/more dense like a ball or marble? Do you think it will fall faster or slower? Why do you think that is? What do you think made it go faster or slower? Show us a picture or video of your pompom run and tell us about what you learned!
